Medical Science Liaison/Field Medical Director

Role Summary

Our client is a fast-growing global specialty pharmaceutical company dedicated to delivering life-saving medicines for rare diseases, emergency care and critical medical conditions. Operating in over 100 countries, they ensure essential therapies reach the patients who need them most—wherever and whenever they're needed.

As they continue to expand across Europe, they're looking for an experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL)/Field Medical Director to lead medical engagement.

 

The Opportunity

This is a highly visible, field-based role where you'll become the scientific expert for a specialist portfolio, partnering with leading healthcare professionals, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and internal teams to improve patient outcomes.

You'll have the autonomy to shape your territory, influence medical strategy and contribute to the successful launch and adoption of innovative therapies.

 

What You'll Be Doing

As the Medical Science Liaison/Field Medical Director, you will:
• Build trusted scientific partnerships with KOLs, healthcare professionals and medical societies.
• Deliver high-quality scientific exchange and medical education on approved therapies.
• Provide disease-state and product training to both external clinicians and internal teams.
• Generate and communicate valuable field medical insights that shape medical strategy.
• Support medical congresses, advisory boards and scientific education programmes.
• Develop and execute territory medical plans aligned with regional objectives.
• Respond to complex medical enquiries with balanced, evidence-based information.
• Support clinical research activities, including site identification, investigator engagement and ongoing study support.
• Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs, Commercial, Market Access, Clinical Development and R&D teams.
• Represent the organisation with the highest levels of scientific integrity and ethical compliance.

 

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a passionate scientific communicator who enjoys building relationships and making a genuine impact on patient care.

 

You'll ideally have:
• A Master's degree or higher in Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing or another Life Sciences discipline.
• At least 5 years' experience within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry, ideally as a Medical Science Liaison.
• Strong knowledge of the healthcare landscape, hospitals and scientific societies.
• Established relationships within Haematology, Oncology and/or Nephrology would be highly advantageous.
• Excellent clinical and scientific knowledge with the ability to communicate complex data clearly.
• Experience interpreting clinical evidence and translating it into meaningful scientific discussions.
• Fluency in English plus local language.

Location
This is a field-based position. EUROPE (preferably GERMANY or BEBELUX) .
Candidates should ideally be located close to an international airport.
